If you go diving with an instructor as part of your resort vacation, no you don’t need to be certified. If you want to go diving by yourself then you do need certification. Have fun!

    yes and no.

To dive you need a C-card from an internationally recognized agency.. there are many. Most places won’t even rent you equipment without a C-Card.

But… most Scuba Dive shops offer a ‘Resort Course” which is 15 minutes of instruction and a supervised dive with an instructor/divemaster. Your dive depth will be limited usually to 35 feet. This is a Discovery-type course to get you interested in diving. These dives do not entitle you to dive on your own or without an instructor.
